The developers are EA, who created FIFA 22

To avoid club colours both sides are sporting Motion capture suits made by FUT 22 Coins Xsens. On the touchline crews sit on laptops. From thousands of miles away an animation director is carefully watching the events unfold on Zoom. This isn't the work of a space-age team of scouting or the latest technology in coaching. The developers are EA, who created FIFA 22. This is the first occasion ever, EA motion-captured an entire 90-minute football matchand tracked players' movements to a granular level which could then be added to its animation database. The gaming company looked at the biggest details to the minutiae: from how a fullback strikes the ball using their laces or how a player instantly glances over their shoulder prior to receiving a pass. "Ultimately, realism equals a better game," is the opinion of Gareth Eaves, senior animation director at EA who conducted the live session. "We wanted to do it for a long time but the technology just hadn't been available." Typically, EA uses optical capture actors and occasionally a superstar footballer, like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, to write new animations. But it involves a small space that can only accommodate one or two players in a row - creating a challenge to attack the ball at pace or pass it between one wing and the other. The motion-captured plays that are restricted like keepie-uppies, one-on-one dribbles need to be altered by FIFA animators into fluid movements that mimic 11-a-side football. Now, the cameras have been pulled. Motion capture has been discarded. Only the Xsens suits remained. "One of the problems had been the issue of drift. We'd be able to tell where joints of players were in relation to each other but not as a relation to cheap FIFA 22 Coins an actual point in time," Eaves explains.
