A: Yes, this year decided to try making dried flower candles with my new wax dripper. Despite my admittedly low expectations, they surprisingly turned out so much better than I imagined. Do not let the number of steps scare you. They are actually quite simple and with just a small amount of know-how and some supplies you can create your own very unique candles, just before the holiday season, for your favorite gift giving.
When you're ready to get started, prepare a box contains a variety of flower pots, wicks and scents, which is an essential to your finished candle creation. Next, gather together a few items that will make the design of your floral candles. These should include, a piece of ribbon, a floral clip or rubber bands, China Halloween candle beeswax, colored pencils or paints, a bottle of flower oil or carrier oil, scented candles and if possible a decorative stick. These will be used to create a mold of your candle. Also include a container of water, which should be filled with about two inches of water. With this basic recipe and container, you are all set to begin. Next, you will want to gather the following items: beeswax, floral tape, scented candles (also known as "bronies", and scented oil), floral shapes such as leaves or bonsai, and your flower box. Depending on what scent you are using, you may want to consider using additional items such as, sand, or ground bone fragments.
Depending on your personal taste, you may also choose to add a small amount of filler. With these supplies, you are ready to create your very first wax flower candle. Before you melt your candle, be sure to pour your wax into your molds. This is very important as it ensures that your candle is consistent in texture. Next, pour in your essential oil and melted chocolate. Let the essential oil mixture cool before adding the melted chocolate. Wait until the mixture is completely melted before pouring it into your scented candles molds. When you have finished creating your beeswax candles and your essential oil candles, you are now ready to add the wax flakes to the bottom of your container.
While you are melting your candle, stir the melted chocolate and the essential oil until smooth. Once you have everything mixed well, it is now time to pour the melted wax into your new molds. To ensure a uniform shape, you will want to add a second row of beeswax candles to the bottom of the jar. Next, add your wicks to the top of the jar. Then, place the melted wax into the bottom of your jar and add your glass jars to cover the entire jar. If your homemade candle jar does not come with jars, then use some tea bags or sugar cans to fill the jar as this will ensure that the candle comes out clean.
